Cory & Christa – The Wedding! | Columbus Ohio Wedding Photography

My word…I have been quite the blogging slacker!! So sorry about that!! I thought I would pop on and share a wedding from last year…because, well, why not? :) I couldn’t narrow it down much, so I will keep the dialogue quick & get to what everyone actually wants to see…the photos!!

You first met Christa & Cory last March (in fact, you can still see them on the blog header) and now it’s time to share their wedding! Not only did Christa plan every little detail of the day (I mean, the reception was a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!), she also planned plenty of time for photos…which I am ever so grateful for :) Since we had plenty of time, we hit up many different locations in Columbus. I’ll be sure to point them out through the post ;)

Enjoy a little peak into their wonderful wedding day!

First up, The Topiary Park

Then we headed to the Columbus Museum of Art

A new one to add to my all-time favorite list:

We grabbed a few shots at the Arena District…

Ceremony time :) Love this shot of everyone heading into the church!

I *love* how the light is on the flower girl in the aisle :)

Another example of how Justin blows my mind with some of his work…amazing shot!!

We stopped at Goodale Park before arriving at the reception…

All the amazing details Christa created at the Smith Bros Loft (they have two spaces, the Loft & The Venue…both amazing!)

Be on the lookout…we’ve got Christa’s maternity shoot scheduled for this fall…so you’ll see much more of this adorable growing family!!

Can’t wait to see you two again :)

Melissa & Travis – The Wedding! | Cincinnati Wedding Photography

If I could plan a dream wedding to photograph…this one would qualify.  All outdoor ceremony & reception. Perfect weather. Amazing location. Stunning couple. Bride & Groom that really values photography & plans the day accordingly…it was a dream. An absolute dream.

Melissa & Travis were married last September at the beautiful Ault Park. The ceremony took place in one of the gardens and then the reception was at the pavilion…it was gorgeous! Melissa planned lots of little details & really made the day their own. She made countless DIY details for the day, and everything came together with so much style and personality. From the bouquets, to “isle poms” (I made this up, I am not sure what they are called), to table decorations. Everything was executed so sweetly.  Here are some of my favorites from the day…there are many, many more, but here’s a little look…

Great shoes!!

Melissa…you are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!!

A Favorite:

The ceremony was so gorgeous. We had the most perfect weather that day!

I always love these…

All outdoor reception…be still my heart!

Great detail for the Bride & Groom’s chairs:

I love this photo soo much…

Let’s just say, this dance was definitely one of the highlights of the reception.

Melissa & Travis, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer! The day was so beautiful and I was honored to document it.

Kim & Greg – The Wedding | Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photography

Every now and then you come across clients that are so much more than that.  This couple happens to be in one of those families.  I almost feel like I’m apart of the family…and kind-of wondering where my invite to Christmas was…just kidding? ;) But seriously, I have been fortunate to photograph so many wedding for this “group” of people, and that means the world to me.

Greg & Kim were married way back in July at the Ohio State Bar Association in Columbus, Ohio. It was such an awesome day. When we arrived it was raining pretty hard, which isn’t always great when you have an outdoor ceremony planned. However, as usual, the rain went away and the sun came out…just in time.  Everything was so perfect. Classy, sophisticated…and fun, really, really fun.

*brides: Please note, the rain only stops if you have already have a rain plan in place. If you don’t, it will rain, and rain. I promise.

I photographed Kim & Greg’s engagement pictures back in April of last year in Minneapolis, and I was so looking forward to seeing them again. Here’s a little look into their beautiful wedding day.

After Kim received her gift from Greg:

Kim, if I looked that way in a dress, I’d wear it every single day. I don’t care if it’s not appropriate for work, when you look that good, who cares?  ;)

Image credit: Justin ;)  (I looked behind me and he was laying on the ground for this one, I was so proud)

Love this shot Justin caught as they were coming down the isle. Do you see that pride in the father’s face…can’t beat that.

This was one of the most beautiful ceremony’s of the year, hands down. Kim, I would love to have a copy of the poem your friend read, it was so beautiful.

Nathan Cutright does it again!

I know it’s blurry, but I love this photo soo much!

I cried more at this dance than anytime at any other wedding, ever. Father-daughter dances get me every time, just something really special about this one.

Ceremony: The Ohio State Bar Association Headquarters

Heidi & John – The Wedding! | Columbus Ohio Wedding Photographer

Way back in June, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Heidi & John! It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we were so honored to have been there documenting it.  We started the day with one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in Columbus, then headed downtown to a park & OSU campus for photos and ended up at The Blackwell for the reception. Heidi & John did an amazing job planning the day, it was full of style and everything was so beautiful.  I hope these photos give you a glimpse into their special day…

There is just something about this image. I love it so much.

Absolutely gorgeous bridesmaids! And seriously…those dresses?! You can’t go wrong with JCrew.

I mean really, can you be anymore good looking?! Geesh.

Stopped at ‘the Shoe‘ for some photos!

I can’t say no to Jeni’s Ice Cream!

Justin & I agreed hands down that this was the happiest first dance we’ve ever seen. It was so beautiful and, well, just happy :)

The Blackwell is an amazing location for a reception. The staff is amazing and the ‘lady in charge’, Blaire…well, I want to be her best friend ;)

A huge storm hit, so the party moved inside…but it didn’t skip a beat!

Cater: The Blackwell

Beth & Sam – Wedding Shoot | Columbus Ohio Wedding Photographer

Oh my! Was I excited about this shoot or what? I’ve already expressed how much I love this couple…so I won”t go into that again (even though I want to). On the wedding day, Beth was amazing with dealing with the rainy weather, all her plans were changed, but she handled it with grace. There was one thing getting her a little down, though she didn’t let it show. Although Sam hadn’t seen Beth before the wedding, he knew something would be bothering her. He knew how important the photos at the farm were to her and how disappointed she was even though no one knew it. He pulled me aside and asked if it would be possible to get dressed up again and do a shoot on another day. After tearing up at how sweet he was to even think of that, I excitedly ran up to tell Beth…of course I was game. While no one really knew how sad she was about the thought of missing out on those photos, everyone could definitely see the change when that idea was suggested. She loved it. So did I. And Sam loves Beth.

So we found one rare, cool evening this summer and took some photos. It was wonderful.

*love*

Dear Doug, thank you for hauling these trunks out into the field for your sweet daughter’s wedding photos.  I know they were heavy, but totally worth it. Don’t you agree? ;)

One of my favorite shots of all time. Really, I’m not sure I could love it anymore.

You two are marvelous, thank you for your friendship. Love you both!
