It’s been far too long since I shared a wedding…not only that…the last wedding I shared was one that I photographed in 2010!  I mean, photographers evolve, even if it’s a little…and I haven’t shown any of my wedding work in 2 years! Wow! I decided to put an end to that. I don’t know if I will reach back and blog every wedding we have photographed since I last blogged, but I promise I will be showing some of them.

First up, Tayler & Andrew. I knew from the moment we met at their engagement session that they were going to have one amazing wedding…and guess what? I was right :) Tayler knew the exact style she wanted for her wedding, and she pulled it off – perfectly!  The weather couldn’t have been better, the details were gorgeous…and well, you’ll see the couple ;) I was so honored to be there and I was thrilled when Tayler emailed after she saw the pictures to say that she couldn’t wait for their next event to photograph. Lifetime clients…there’s nothing better :)

I first photographed Samantha & Josh back in 2010 for their engagement pictures.  Samantha loves the fall colors, so we did their shoot in the midst of all changing leaves. The stars didn’t align for me to be their wedding photographer, so when she emailed me asking about an anniversary shoot, I was thrilled. Last October we met up for a shoot to document their first year of marriage…how sweet is that?!

I was so excited when they stepped out of the car…I mean, check out her amazing dress! They had fun with it too, she added a cardigan, crazy cute jewelry & some bright red lipstick…a little different than her style on her wedding day. I love that it’s the same attire, but changed up a bit. Here’s a look at our session!

And of course we got a few in some “regular” clothes too ;)

My word…I have been quite the blogging slacker!! So sorry about that!! I thought I would pop on and share a wedding from last year…because, well, why not? :) I couldn’t narrow it down much, so I will keep the dialogue quick & get to what everyone actually wants to see…the photos!!

You first met Christa & Cory last March (in fact, you can still see them on the blog header) and now it’s time to share their wedding! Not only did Christa plan every little detail of the day (I mean, the reception was a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!), she also planned plenty of time for photos…which I am ever so grateful for :) Since we had plenty of time, we hit up many different locations in Columbus. I’ll be sure to point them out through the post ;)

In October last year, the sweet Emilie & Andy were married in a small church in the country. It was such a beautiful day…perfect weather, perfect couple, perfect guests…you couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day.  The ceremony took place at Browns Chapel in Clarksburg, Ohio where much of the family grew up. Then we headed off to the fairgrounds for one of the best parties of the year, what a reception! Here’s a look into their family filled, country wedding…

I have always thought churches needs next to no decorations…they are beautiful on their own. This was one such church, just gorgeous for a small county wedding!

Jill & Austin were married in Indianapolis, Indiana last October in one of the most touching ceremonies I’ve photographed so far. Jill & I went to college together and when she contacted me about photographing her wedding I was thrilled. You see, Jill has one of the most sweet personalities of anyone I have ever met.  You can see her love of our sweet Lord through her smile and their wedding was such an amazing reminder of how marriage consists of 3.  What an amazing day.

The day was chilly & rainy, but of course it cleared up just enough for us to photograph downtown. Jill & Austin, thank you so much for having us photograph your wedding. I *loved* seeing you again :)

I recently shared Eric & Elena’s engagement session, and shortly after we photographed that, it was time for their wedding. As usual, it was a perfect day. Once again, some of the best weather we had all year. They were married at the beautiful Adena Mansion & Gardens in Chillicothe, then the reception was held at The Madison.  If you are looking for an outdoor area in Chillicothe for your wedding, give Adena a look. They have many different locations you can choose. I LOVE how Elena & Eric choose to get married under the big trees…it was absolutely beautiful!

They planned out every detail, and it sure did show. From the vibrant colors she infused in the bouquets & hanging lanterns, to the stings of paper doves hanging from the ceremony trees…everything was just stunning. Here’s a small look into their amazing wedding day…enjoy :)

Not only did they allow lots of time before the wedding for photos, we also had a few minutes to steal downtown before they entered the reception…you know, when the light is really great!

If I could plan a dream wedding to photograph…this one would qualify.  All outdoor ceremony & reception. Perfect weather. Amazing location. Stunning couple. Bride & Groom that really values photography & plans the day accordingly…it was a dream. An absolute dream.

Melissa & Travis were married last September at the beautiful Ault Park. The ceremony took place in one of the gardens and then the reception was at the pavilion…it was gorgeous! Melissa planned lots of little details & really made the day their own. She made countless DIY details for the day, and everything came together with so much style and personality. From the bouquets, to “isle poms” (I made this up, I am not sure what they are called), to table decorations. Everything was executed so sweetly.  Here are some of my favorites from the day…there are many, many more, but here’s a little look…

I was so anxious all year for August 14, 2010. Actually, I had been anxious for that day since November 2009. In November, Justin & I had the pleasure of flying over to one of our favorite cities in the nation to photograph the engagement of some of the sweetest people we have every met. Even better, we now call them friends. Audrey & Muncie brought us to Washington DC to document that time in their life…engaged, attending law school, living in DC…it was wonderful!

The day was nothing short of amazing. Audrey & Muncie were the epitome of style and class. There is nothing like spending a wedding day with a couple you adore and their families that you want to join. Once again, we left feeling as if we made so many new friends…a sure sign of a fantastic day.

…oh, and the details you ask? The details were out of this world. As a photographer (and once a bride), I can’t and never will be able to say enough about wedding planners.  Mackenzie Spalding of One Fine Day is the bee’s knees. She pulls together the most fabulous events I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen a lot of them. Everything about the day was impeccable and I am honored that I was chosen to document it all…here’s a look into August 14, through my camera of course.

Audrey & Muncie decided to do the first look, which was great for many reasons. Their wedding day happened to be warm. Really, really warm.  So warm that we did 90% of all photos inside.  If they hadn’t decided to see each other before the ceremony, we wouldn’t have had nearly enough time/light for photos. Audrey & Muncie, thanks for valuing photographs & the time it takes to create them the way you do :)

Every now and then you come across clients that are so much more than that.  This couple happens to be in one of those families.  I almost feel like I’m apart of the family…and kind-of wondering where my invite to Christmas was…just kidding? ;) But seriously, I have been fortunate to photograph so many wedding for this “group” of people, and that means the world to me.

Greg & Kim were married way back in July at the Ohio State Bar Association in Columbus, Ohio. It was such an awesome day. When we arrived it was raining pretty hard, which isn’t always great when you have an outdoor ceremony planned. However, as usual, the rain went away and the sun came out…just in time.  Everything was so perfect. Classy, sophisticated…and fun, really, really fun.

*brides: Please note, the rain only stops if you have already have a rain plan in place. If you don’t, it will rain, and rain. I promise.

I photographed Kim & Greg’s engagement pictures back in April of last year in Minneapolis, and I was so looking forward to seeing them again. Here’s a little look into their beautiful wedding day.

Sometimes when people live in one area for most of their lives they don’t realize how others may see it. I’ve spent most of my life in Bainbridge, Ohio. It’s a two stop light town in the middle of Southern Ohio.  I’ve always liked living here, but only recently I have begun to LOVE it. Yep, I love Bainbridge…don’t judge ;) It’s a special place, but it took me a while to realize it.  If you don’t believe me, come on out and I can show you some pretty amazing places.  Now, I’ve never lived in Chillicothe, however, I’m there all the time (it’s just a short 20 miles or so away). When I look at Chillicothe I don’t think of it as anything special. Or I didn’t.

Neither Stacy or Luke are from Chillicothe, they both moved here for their work. Their wedding is one of the highlights of my year…why, you ask?  Well, I watched their wedding day unfold in a city that I am so familiar with, yet it seemed so different. They love this town and it showed during their wedding day. There were few locals in attendance and for most, this was their first time to Chillicothe. Justin & I left saying how they made Chillicothe seem so ‘cool’, for lack of a better word. Every part of the day was filled with love & style…the best combination on a wedding day ;)

I am thankful to Stacy & Luke for helping me open my eyes and see the usual in an unusual way. I am blessed to live where I am and I am soo thankful for ‘neighbors’ like them ;)  Be proud of where you are from, it’s probably not as boring as you think!

Couples take note: see how both the Bride & the Groom have impeccable style…don’t forget about the Groom…it’s his day too. Luke looked awesome in his suit!! And don’t get me started on Stacy! So Beautiful!!
