I loved every little bit of this shoot.  When Leslie first sent me a message about setting up a shoot, I was so excited. There is just something about twins…maybe it’s because I’ve got one of my own, but I just feel so connected to them.  These two are as cute as they come. It’s so fun to watch them interact and help each other.  During the shoot Evelyn was helping Andrew up off the ground, Andrew shared his juice with Evelyn…it’s so great that they will grow up having a best friend right there with them through everything. *even though at some points they wont realize how great it is ;) right Whitney? haha!

Anyway…here are a few of my favorites!

Note to Justin: I want a photo just like this with our kiddos. Someday…far in the future.

I think this outfit change shows a bit of their personalities :)

They got a large canvas of this image for their living room…it looks so great!!

One of my favorites:

They were the Ambassador Family for this year’s March of Dimes. The twins were little miracles when they were born and I am so honored to photograph them as they get older! Can’t wait for our next shoot!!

We are heading out for yet another trip this week…so if you don’t hear from me right away, that’s why. I will have email with me, but I’ll also be near a beach…so you get the hint ;)

To be fair…it’s a business trip, just happens to be at the beach too. Photos to come soon!!

Sweet Laynie | Columbus Ohio Family Photographer

I don’t know what on earth I could say about this family that I haven’t already said. Really, anyone that reads this blog even semi-regularly knows how much I love them. Really, really love them. So instead of saying all the same things over and over, I will just let you look at these sweet summer images celebrating the fact that little miss Laynie is 6 months old!! Well, she was in May, but hey, I’m catching up.

Hayley always does an awesome job with clothing…I swear I am going to hire her out to help anyone who wants it. They always look so put together without being too matchy…love it!

This one just makes me laugh.

Sophie & Justin did a lot of bonding that day. Before that day, she was a little shy around him…but not here. They were best buddies and she even asked for these photos. How funny?!

My sweet photo friend whisked me off to Washington DC this week to help with a shoot, so I promise I am not ignoring any of those emails & print orders…reply’s are coming soon…I promise ;)

We have lots of fun shoots coming up in the next few weeks and of course lots more that I have yet to share, so keep coming back!!

There is absolutely nothing more I can say about this family that I haven’t already said…in the previous 10 or so posts about them…yep, I blog them a lot ;) So I will try to keep it short.  I love that they value photographs they way they should be…they don’t look at them as just pictures of their families that they do when they think about it.  Our shoots are planned out, for particular times to record particular moments in their lives.  These are their records, and this is what they will look back on to see what Sophie looked was like when she was 4. Yep, you heard it right…Sophie, my sweet Sophie is 4.

Sophie’s favorite color is purple.  She is a very special person in my life…so that calls for one very special, purple-y photoshoot.

*There’s  bunch…sorry, but below are some of my favorite images ever, so there’s no way I was narrowing them down ;)

Disclaimer: I am typically not a fan of all white (like most photographers), however, take note…this is white done right! Nice job Hay.

Typical Ash Family:  (*you know I love you ;)

Sunday we are having Laynie’s 6 month shoot…and I am SOO excited for it :)

I don’t think I could love this image anymore than I already do. Without a doubt, it’s my favorite:

Have a beautiful Friday :)  Oh, and thanks for taking time and reading my blog. You have NO idea how much it means to me.

McFadden Family – Snow Shoot! | Chillicothe Ohio Family Photography

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

I’m back!! In honor of my arrival back to Ohio, I thought the only appropriate shoot to post would be a snow shoot…cause I’m cold again! I know, it’s warm here…well, not if you just came back from Naples.  I had the most amazing time, and already started looking for tickets to head back this summer, and I might even take Justin this time ;)

Sadly, I didn’t take my camera, so I don’t really have any photos to share.  However, I am leaving again next week and promise to take plenty on that trip.  I spent my days soaking up much needed time with Allison & her wonderful family, helping with a beautiful beach front wedding with Ashley & Sam, eating, shopping…you know, the usual.  It was wonderful and I am already counting down the days till I go back.

Now…for why you are really here.  Pictures!  I was more than thrilled when the McFadden’s let me know that not only did they want a family shoot, but they wanted it in the snow.  We tried 2 or 3 times before our schedules aligned and the snow had fallen…but we couldn’t have chosen a better day.  The snow was deep and still stuck on the trees (the best kind).  We all hiked around their property and came up with this…

definitely a favorite…

See what I mean about the snow on the trees…

I am actually hoping to dye my hair that beautiful reddish/blonde color and follow them around in hopes that I can join their family. I mean seriously, look at them!

Classic.

Totally appropriate:

Okay, now I am going to go outside and convince myself it’s warm…

*more snow shoots to come ;)

It’s so hard to plan a photo shoot when members of your family are as busy as they are these days. One kid has practice, the other art lessons, another has a job…it gets tough.  Well, you know what’s harder.  When one kid lives in Indiana, one lives in Alaska and one is on their way to Texas soon.  So when Allison emailed me from Alaska and was trying to coordinate a time to get family photos taken…I was going to be there, who cares if it’s the day after Christmas. There are only so many chances to photograph this family together…unless they want to take me to Alaska next time they visit Allison ;)

The point is…family photos are important.  People are busy, but in 5 years you wont want to look back and think…did I really not have one evening to dedicate to documenting my family at the time.  I know I stress this all to often, but it’s also all to often that I see families go 5 to 10…to 20 years without a family portrait. It’s a shame, and I hope to be a small part in changing that habit.

I am positive that 30 years down the road, Jackson is going to call up his Aunt Allison and thank him for setting up a session…because when it comes down to it, he is going to love seeing his family when he was just 1 year old.

Love this shot of Jackson & his Great-Grandma.

Crazy cute.

Jackson…you are too cute for words!

Only one more 2009 post to go…then I’ll show you some from this year ;)

There isn’t any possible way I can sum up the way I feel about the Ash family in a blog post. Sorry, I just can’t do it. As you’ve probably read, Hayley & I have known each other since we were 4.  We met in “preschool Sunday school” and  other than my sisters, she is my oldest friend.  Do you know how amazing it is to watch one of your best friends get married & have babies…well, it’s amazing.

Early last year Justin & I were at the Ash home playing cards & Hayley kept knocking everything (and I mean everything) over. She casually mentioned that last time she was that clumsy was when she was pregnant with Sophie.  We all laughed about that, and continued our game.  When we got home Justin was just as clumsy…and he said, Hayley better be pregnant, cause if she isn’t, you are.

And here we are now. And I am happy about that on many levels ;)

I thought I should combine this post and just go from event to event…so get ready for some maternity pictures, hospital pictures & newborn pictures :)

The maternity shoot was actually pretty unplanned. I was in Columbus and had my camera, and Hayley had a feeling that Laynie wanted to make her arrival before our scheduled shoot.

Love these…

The minute Richard called me to let me know they were heading to the hospital I was putting on my shoes.  Of course I had to wait a couple hours till Justin got home from school…but I was so excited!  *and surprise…Laynie decided to come about 1 month early!

Love this too:

My job is centered around love, and I realize not many people can say that.  The purpose in what I do is to document the love people have for one another.  Whether that be a family, newborns, wedding days…it’s all centered around people that want to document their relationships.  A perk that comes along with this job is that I have made the most amazing friends from my clients.  I typically leave a wedding feeling like I’ve known the bride & groom (and usually the entire wedding party & families) for years.  I am in awe that I get to watch kids grow up…maternity shoots, newborn shoots, 6 month shoots, 1 year shoots…it’s amazing to watch them grown and become the amazing people they are.  Megan Steve & Cade are no exception, they are as sweet & kindhearted as one can be.  Megan and I have been emailing back and forth since before her shoot…we even are having lunch just to catch up!  The best part…I have been asked to document these first amazing years of Cade’s life (and hopefully many more to come…I better do those senior pictures Megan ;)  We already have a date planned for Cade for his birthday shoot in October.

Obviously I am feeling very grateful today ;)

Thank you to all my amazing clients.  Thank you for not only allowing me to photograph your lives, but to become your friend.  It’s an honor.

**love** this photo…so much.

What are you thankful for today?

I’m back!  Then again, I am not sure if I announced that I was going to be gone.  I’ve been visiting beautiful Lexington & Wilmore, Kentucky since Sunday…and it was a wonderful trip! I was photographing an engagement shoot & a senior, and had a great time at both.  It was the perfect fall days, I couldn’t have asked for better weather!

Anyway, I am back in Bainbridge, and back to work! Not only that, but I realized somehow I forgot to blog an entire session…I had shown a sneak peak…but no actual post!  So, to make up for that, I am posting them now!

Meet with Watson Family (and the Ray family)…these are some of my very favorite people and it meant so much to me that they asked me to do their family pictures.  I actually consider them family myself.  Here a just a few of my favorites:
