Baby James | Southern Ohio Children Photography

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Last January Justin & I made one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We bought a house, but not just any house, the perfect house in the perfect place for us. Not only do we love working on all our projects to make this place our own…but there’s something even better about living here. Our neighbors. We have the best neighbors anyone could ask for. For instance, when we got home yesterday our table had a beautiful bouquet on it, homemade cookies on the counter and a sweet message on our chalkboard fridge. No, I am not kidding. I hate leaving, and I just love coming home!

All that to say…here’s one of my little neighbors. Meet baby James. I could gush for paragraphs about this little man, but I’ll just get right to the photos. He melts my heart.

I just can’t even take it!!

The one of the right is our little sidewalk…if you look closely, you can see our home, the first one on the left!

And because it was so hard to pick out the ones I posted…here’s the rest in a little slideshow: Baby James *turn your music on ;)

Hamman Family | Chillicothe Family Portrait Photography

I loved every little bit of this shoot.  When Leslie first sent me a message about setting up a shoot, I was so excited. There is just something about twins…maybe it’s because I’ve got one of my own, but I just feel so connected to them.  These two are as cute as they come. It’s so fun to watch them interact and help each other.  During the shoot Evelyn was helping Andrew up off the ground, Andrew shared his juice with Evelyn…it’s so great that they will grow up having a best friend right there with them through everything. *even though at some points they wont realize how great it is ;) right Whitney? haha!

Anyway…here are a few of my favorites!

Note to Justin: I want a photo just like this with our kiddos. Someday…far in the future.

I think this outfit change shows a bit of their personalities :)

They got a large canvas of this image for their living room…it looks so great!!

One of my favorites:

They were the Ambassador Family for this year’s March of Dimes. The twins were little miracles when they were born and I am so honored to photograph them as they get older! Can’t wait for our next shoot!!

We are heading out for yet another trip this week…so if you don’t hear from me right away, that’s why. I will have email with me, but I’ll also be near a beach…so you get the hint ;)

To be fair…it’s a business trip, just happens to be at the beach too. Photos to come soon!!

Abby & Reed | Chillicothe Ohio Child Photography

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Abby & Reed couldn’t be any cuter if they tried. Really…I just love these two!! I only have a minute…I’ve assigned myself to a full day of editing today, but I wanted to pop on and share a few photos from their session.

Enjoy!!

Future heart-breaker…

Her too…love em’

I posted this image a while back, but couldn’t help but show it again.

Tyler & Friends…OSU | Columbus Ohio Portrait Photography

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I think this shoot was genius!! My sweet Aunt Dawn (yes, I am named after her) called me one day and said that she had an idea for Ty’s gift for graduating college. They thought it would be fun to do a photo shoot with his friends on campus. Seriously. Why on earth haven’t I thought of this?! So smart. I would LOVE to have photos of my college friends before we all parted ways.  I think these will be so great for them to have years down the road when they don’t get to see each other or even talk as much as they would like. It always happens sooner than you think.

Genius idea guys, I loved every minute of our shoot…well, except that Tyler has no idea of what “just over there” means. Come on Tyler. I went to Asbury…it’s a small campus ;)

My favorite shot of our shoot…

And of course, one of the man himself by the Business College…so proud of you!!!

Oh, and you know I had to make the whole family get together for a couple shots…Aunt Dawn made this into a huge (and by huge, I mean proportional to the wall) canvas for the living room, and it looks amazing!!

Oh, and yes, if you were wondering. Bree and I are the real twins of the family…not Whitney & I ;) Aside from the age difference, and the fact that she’s much prettier, we have been told more than once we look like twins. And I’m more than okay with that ;)

Sweet Laynie | Columbus Ohio Family Photographer

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I don’t know what on earth I could say about this family that I haven’t already said. Really, anyone that reads this blog even semi-regularly knows how much I love them. Really, really love them. So instead of saying all the same things over and over, I will just let you look at these sweet summer images celebrating the fact that little miss Laynie is 6 months old!! Well, she was in May, but hey, I’m catching up.

Hayley always does an awesome job with clothing…I swear I am going to hire her out to help anyone who wants it. They always look so put together without being too matchy…love it!

This one just makes me laugh.

Sophie & Justin did a lot of bonding that day. Before that day, she was a little shy around him…but not here. They were best buddies and she even asked for these photos. How funny?!

My sweet photo friend whisked me off to Washington DC this week to help with a shoot, so I promise I am not ignoring any of those emails & print orders…reply’s are coming soon…I promise ;)

We have lots of fun shoots coming up in the next few weeks and of course lots more that I have yet to share, so keep coming back!!

April Kentucky Photo Trip | Bardstown Kentucky Family Photography

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Well…I’m back!! We had the most amazing time in Maine.  I can’t wait to show you pictures, but truthfully, I haven’t even downloaded them all…so it will be a bit ;) I’ve got more important photos to work on first!!

Every year I make sure to head to beautiful Bardstown, Kentucky to photograph the sweet families there.  I’ve been photographing at the Montessori school there for 2 years and that has connected me with some of the sweetest families in the bluegrass.  Here is a look at my last trip and the too cute families I spent my time with.

*I am soo behind, so I thought I’d combine this post and be a bit more efficient ;)

Have a great weekend!! We’ll be shooting an amazing wedding in Columbus :)

Have a happy day.

Take a tip from Abby…and have a really, really good day :)

Ash Family | Chillicothe Ohio Family Photography

Friday, May 21st, 2010

There is absolutely nothing more I can say about this family that I haven’t already said…in the previous 10 or so posts about them…yep, I blog them a lot ;) So I will try to keep it short.  I love that they value photographs they way they should be…they don’t look at them as just pictures of their families that they do when they think about it.  Our shoots are planned out, for particular times to record particular moments in their lives.  These are their records, and this is what they will look back on to see what Sophie looked was like when she was 4. Yep, you heard it right…Sophie, my sweet Sophie is 4.

Sophie’s favorite color is purple.  She is a very special person in my life…so that calls for one very special, purple-y photoshoot.

*There’s  bunch…sorry, but below are some of my favorite images ever, so there’s no way I was narrowing them down ;)

Disclaimer: I am typically not a fan of all white (like most photographers), however, take note…this is white done right! Nice job Hay.

Typical Ash Family:  (*you know I love you ;)

Sunday we are having Laynie’s 6 month shoot…and I am SOO excited for it :)

I don’t think I could love this image anymore than I already do. Without a doubt, it’s my favorite:

Have a beautiful Friday :)  Oh, and thanks for taking time and reading my blog. You have NO idea how much it means to me.

Sikora Family | Albuquerque New Mexico

Monday, May 17th, 2010

The Sikora’s are moving in about a month…but before they do, they wanted to have family pictures in the place they’ve called home for over a year now.  Not only do they LOVE Albuquerque, but a sweet little girl named Millie just joined the family, so they couldn’t have thought up a better time to do pictures! Lucky for me, I LOVE to travel :)

Before this trip, I hadn’t been farther west then the tip of Missouri.  So not only was I thrilled to see the Sikora’s again, but I was so excited to see a part of the county I’ve never seen. The verdict: I’m going back!  I’ll be honest…I didn’t think I would be so impressed by it. The desert isn’t really for me…I love where I live and New Mexico is completely opposite of here.  However, it was so beautiful & I can’t wait to take Justin.  We plan to go out for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta someday :)

I guess I’ll quit babbling and let you see the photos…here are a few of my favorites…it was so neat to photograph with such different locations than I am used to. And light.  Wow, the light was definitely different than what I am used to.

One of the sweetest families I know!

I love this one…

The next two are some of my favorite photos of all time. Seriously.

Jeremy, Heather, Annie & Millie, thank you soooo much for showing me your home. I loved it so much and I can’t wait to visit you in San Antonio!! ;)

Next up…I had a layover in Minneapolis on my way home, so I met up with one of my 2010 wedding couples for an engagement shoot!!

Miss Millie | Albuquerque New Mexico

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Amelia Madeliene joined the sweet Sikora Family on February 24.  Just one month later, I was out in New Mexico photographing this beautiful little girl.  It was an honor to meet Millie and I spent a large part of my trip holding her.  I couldn’t put her down!

Just before I left for my flight to Minneapolis, we did a little shoot while she was sleeping.  Heather wanted peaceful, sleeping baby pictures…and I think we did just that. Here are a couple favorites…don’t you just want to scoop her right up?!

Of course, I do have their family shoot to share…and one of their photos is in my list of favorite photos ever. No really, ever…stay tuned :)
