Brecken & family: his 1st year…and a tad more!

Oh, how I have been waiting to share some of these shoots with you. It’s taking a lot to not separate them into 6 different posts, but I really want to show how awesome a “baby plan” is.  Just a couple years ago, I introduced a “baby plan” to my shoot offerings. Not sure if it would take off, I had 5 families sign up almost immediately. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I have had with these families. Some have picked to do their plan over 2 years, and some have kept them to 1. I’m still working with most of them, but I have recently finished up a few…and gosh, it’s so fun to look back. Honestly, it makes me feel a tad guilty for my kids…I mean, isn’t the saying…”a cobbler’s kids don’t have shoes…” or something like that?

Anyway, I HAVE to introduce you to these people! A simple blog post would never convey how much I adore them. Jamie and I have clicked and have become such great friends. Not like, “I love photographing you and your family, it’s really fun” sort of friends, but full texting conversations and her sending me the most thoughtful sweet notes and gifts. I mean, this girl, she’s something else.

They are actually the first family to sign up for the baby plan and she added a maternity session to it, so I just had to show you them all at once to watch cute little Brecken grow.  Hold on to your horses, it’s a big post, but it’s so worth it :)

2015 Senior Team Member : Savannah // Chillicothe High School Senior

When I was around 10, I begged and begged my mom to let me dye my hair black…you know, so I would look Hawaiian. I mean, that would do the trick, right? I swore when I turned 18, I’d do it myself…thankfully, I grew out of that idea, because I think we can all just visualize how not great I would look with black hair. My newest hair color obsession…red. Oh my, it’s so, so good. Thankfully, and strangely, my son has red hair…so he’s fulfilling my need for it in my life and I still get to see it every day. The point of this story…well, holy amazing hair, Savannah.

My first shoot with her was rained out…while we were shooting. This is something we can usually avoid and typically we know ahead of time it’s going to be cancelled, however this storm surprised us. I was only about 30% frustrated because it only meant that I got more time with Savannah! This girl was so much fun to photograph. She’s such a natural and just as sweet as she looks. I am so honored that she is one of my team members this year!

We saw this sucker and flipped out. I mean, I assume it’s a lawn roller or something, but whatever it was…I knew we were going to use it. Look at that detail!

2015 Senior Team Member : Kassadee // Unioto High Senior

I think it’s time to start blogging some of my seniors! First up, one of my amazing Team Members, Kassadee! Don’t worry, I told her mom that she spelled her name wrong ;) Just kidding…well, I mean, I told her…but it was a joke, promise!

I had a BLAST on this shoot…but after you see the photos, you will know why.  Not only is she super sweet, super photogenic & super…uh, gorgeous, she wanted something a bit different than the usual. Ask, and you shall receive :) Don’t get my wrong, I think we have some amazing locations in Chillicothe (and the area)…but shooting shoot after shoot, no matter the variety we have…sometimes it’s nice to throw in something a little new. Plus, she loves a bigger city and that’s what your senior pictures should be…what YOU love! So off to the Arena District we went! We did the entire shoot in about a 3 block span, and let me tell you…we only stopped because we were out of light. I could have photographed her in that location for hours.
*seniors…there is not an extra travel fee for Columbus shoots…just a heads up ;)

Christie, Beckham & baby Chester

Happy Monday!! What? Too perky for this icy covered Monday morning? Sorry, but I wanted to share these sweet maternity photos with you all. I should start by saying…I love this girl. I’ve had the best time getting to know her & her family this past year while her son was on the “baby plan” (more on that soon), and as you can see, just as I hope all of my baby plan clients will do, she’s pregnant again, so I get another year with them! One of my favorite things about Christie (seriously, there are so many), she’s not wrapped up in the quantity of photos…just quality. We got together one afternoon, super low key and just knocked out a little mini session. Just enough to document this awesome time of her pregnancy & a few super sweet photos of her and Beckham.

Of course, as you have guessed it, her sweet baby arrived late fall, and I can’t wait to show you this awesome family of 4.

Sweet Miss Eisley Ray

It’s gonna be random for a while…but random is better than nothing, right?! I have been so excited to show you this session. It’s hands down one of my favorite sessions I’ve done. So many reasons: adorable family, the colors, the stye of their space…it all just came together, and I love it so much.

To be totally honest, for years newborn shoots made me more nervous than any other type of shoot I do. For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why people said it was their favorite type of shoot. I would almost be sick with nervousness on my way each time. In the end, they always came out okay, but I always struggled with them. 2 years ago, I figured out why. I was trying so hard to do what everyone else was doing for newborn sessions (more setups, poses and whatnot). Once I finally figured out that I could approach newborn sessions the same way I do my other shoots, I instantly started loving them. Also important: my newborn session style is NOT for everyone. I understand that and I want others to know that. If you want that other look, let me know and I can refer to you some AMAZING photographers that can do just that…but know, it’s not how I approach them.

As you can see, parents are *very* involved in my shoots…so be prepared if you are looking to book with me. Also, I don’t shoot indoors often, but I always do on newborn shoots…I love to document your new family in the space you live…it’s part of why I love these shoots so much. Here’s a little look into my style of newborn shoots. Again, so many of these sessions to share, but that’s what not blogging for so long does ;) I love this little family…they are adorable, have great style…and to top it off…Johnny (the dad, obviously) has one of my top 2 favorite names of anyone I’ve personally met….Johnny Ropple. I mean, seriously…doesn’t that sound awesome?! I can’t put my finger on it…whether he could be a smooth 1950s heartthrob or an awesome comic book character or what…but something. Just say it out loud…Johnny Ropple.

*side note: I never told him that, so I have probably totally freaked him out now. Sorry Johnny, I just really like your name.

I am in love with Eisley’s nursery. I wanted to totally re-do ours after seeing it (I was due with Hayes about 2 weeks or so from when we did this shoot).chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography chillicothe ohio newborn photography
