Sneak Peak…

That’s pure love right there.

I am currently proofing this family session and stopped right in the middle of editing to post this image. Love it.

Maybe my own little puppies have given me a soft spot for this photo…but I doubt it, I’m pretty sure I’d love it regardless of my current situation.

McKell Family | Chillicothe Ohio Photography

Our shoot was scheduled for 6pm…it had been the most beautiful day, sunny and warm – a perfect summer day.  Around 5:30, the clouds rolled in. Big dark clouds.  I couldn’t reach Ed (pretty sure the storm knocked the cell tower out for a bit) and I didn’t want them to think I just gave up without contacting them, so Justin & I headed into Chillicothe, and we couldn’t see 5 feet in front of the car…it was crazy rain!  Once we reached each other and decided to reschedule, we turned around and headed back home.  Yards were flooded and it had only been 10 minutes.  I called Ed once I got home and the sun was out, it was just about the only day we could do the shoot, so back into town we went…and I am so glad. I *love* these images.

The McKell family (well…these McKells ;) are becoming Missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ and they are heading to Germany.  I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their family to document this stage in their lives.  Here are a few of my favorites…

McKell Family, Thank you.  Not just for allowing me to photograph your family, but for what you are doing.  I know the Lord is calling you to do great things, and I am honored to call you friends.  You are in my prayers.

Burwell Family | Chillicothe Ohio Photography

To say that I love this family would be a slight understatement.  January 2008, I went down to Naples Florida to help second shoot a wedding with my good friends Ashley & Sam Brockinton.  The wedding was beautiful and the family…the absolute best! Turns out that Jackie, the beautiful bride, was originally from Ohio, so when her sister Laura got engaged I was honored when they called me! I was so excited to see them all again!

To my delight, the Burwell’s and I just clicked, and not long ago Marcia contacted me about shooting a family session when Jackie & Rob were up for a visit.  I could not wait for this session…I *love* this family.  Thank you to the Burwell family, I am so blessed that you would allow me to photograph such wonderful times in your life. *and when I overheard you saying that you found your photographer for life…well, let’s just say I am still blushing ;)

Love you all!

*did I mention they love dogs ;) columbus ohio family photographer

Happy 4th of July!

…and Happy 1 month birthday to these cuties!!!

lap puppies

L to R: pinky, violet, not josh, clancy, sayid, lemon, bruno, magellan, lime, josh & peach…and of course a couple others so i could make an even collage…peach, clancy, sayid, and the many faces of voilet.

Of course these aren’t the actual names…except sayid (our baby) and josh (my sisters)…but it’s what we call them to tell them apart.

I wanted to let you all know that all new updates on puppies (except maybe a couple) will now be here: Justin & Cassidy – The Blog (there is already a post to explain the names)

I can’t promise that they will happen often, because Justin (who typically updates) is leaving on Sunday for 2 weeks at a Journalism fellowship at Kent State…and frankly, I’m really busy.  However, I’ll try :)

I just had to put these too cute photos up for everyone to see them on their birthday!  If you are interested in a pup, please email me and let me know…we’ll add you to the list, and keep you updated. We can’t promise that everyone interested will get one because we do have many inquires, but we will do our best to get these cute little puppies in the best possible homes.

*they are pure bred labs

Have a great 4th of July!!!

Lindsay & Brian – The Wedding! | Chillicothe Ohio Wedding Photography

I’d been waiting for May 30th, 2009, for quite a while.  I’ve known Lindsay for over 10 years, and last March we started talking wedding talk…I knew her wedding was going to be amazing.  From the first decisions and ideas she had, to what it became…it was class, class all the way.  She’s a planner and loves subtle details…um, I think we all know someone else like that…yep, we were always on the same page.  I remember walking around Miami University last July photographing their engagement pictures and talking about the big day; I was excited back then, so you can imagine my delight on the day of.

Not only was the weather perfect – and I mean perfect – but we also had the most beautiful light. Better yet, it stormed like crazy once we were inside for dancing.  Lindsay loves storms, she had hoped it would rain on her wedding day – I love that (i really love that it was after all photos outside were done). :)

Lindsay & Brian planned one of the most classic and stunning weddings I’ve been to, and frankly, it was an honor to document their day.

I love, love, loved the arrangements in the windows!

The 1st time I officially teared up that day.

I definitely flipped a little when I saw the ivy covering the pastor’s house…it couldn’t have been more perfect!

Brian’s mom, Patti, owns the Sunroom @ the Brick…needless to say, everything was stunning.  Oh, and did I mention how much I loved her colors…cause I really *loved* her colors!
