This particular post is a post request!  Did you know you could do that?  Cause you can :)

I have been made aware that back in the fall I promised to show more of the family photos from our shoot…and I didn’t (promised here and here).  I am very sorry.  Here are some.  Have a wonderful Friday!!!

**it’s not my typical shoot…but let’s be honest, it’s hard to get those great interaction shots when your in the shot…

Katy – a few more | Chillicothe Ohio Senior Photography

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

I just wanted to share a few more of my favorites from Katy’s session at my house.

I officially decided this year that I *love* shoots in the snow!  So pretty!

The shot on the right is for my Uncle Dana (Katy’s dad)…how cute is she?!  He is a hunter and wanted her to use that as a prop, love it!0104

Love the vintagy feel on these photos!  Her dress, the snow and the house were a perfect mix for this vintage look!017029

We have the begingings of a building beside our house and I have been wanting to try and use it in a shoot, I am really happy with how it worked…I hope they don’t build it up too soon…I’d like to use it a bit more ;) 034035

oh, and for any LOST fans…was last night awesome or what?!  it’s so my favorite show!

A shoot at the Cottage. | Chillicothe Ohio Senior Photography

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I have been wanting to do a session at my house since we moved here.  Everyday I would find another ’spot’ that would be perfect for a shoot…so, of course when my cousin Katy wanted to get a few more shots done, I begged to do them here!  She had gotten her braces off, had a slightly different hair color, and had always wanted to do photos in the snow…and you know I was all over that!  I am finishing up the editing today, but wanted to share a little sneak peak.

I can’t wait to do more session at the house, I didn’t even scratch the surface of all the different locations here!

More coming soon!  Have a terrific Monday!

would you be our ‘fan’

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

The official facebook post.  Every photographer has one, so I knew mine would be coming soon…and we’ve arrived.

Cassidy Dawn Photography has been on facebook for quite sometime now…but never like this.  We now have our very own page specially dedicated to the business.  If you happen to be on facebook, hop on over and check it out…and please, we are lacking friends (as I just published it a few moments ago), so be ever so kind and be a ‘fan’.  It would make me smile for days!  Thanks so much…now go check it out!

I was very conservative with the images in the galleries…since I have posted so many on my own personal page, and the Cassidy Dawn group, I thought I would keep this one simple.  Each gallery has 30 images…so that way you don’t have to go through 3 different pages to see them all.

our page on facebook!

Hope to see you there!

*If you happen to have any experience with us (i.e. if you are one of our amazing clients), we would be honored if you posted a little review us.  We would be eternally grateful :)

we love big prints!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I wanted to share with you a little suggestion when getting your photos printed – don’t be afraid to print them big!  Really, just look at these images from a fall senior session.  They turned out stunning.  One of my favorite sizes is the 7×11 – so much more fun than an 8×10 (and you aren’t loosing half the image!).  *The 7×11 are in the top & bottom left corner of the photo.

*I put a 4×6 in the bottom right hand corner so you can see the size difference!

All images can be mounted on matboard…so I thought I would share what that looks like.  They are more durable & you really don’t even have to frame them, sometimes it looks great just propping them up on a shelf!  *Keep in mind, that when matting photos, this might not be the best option…they can be hard to mat & frame.  However, if you are framing them without a mat – it’s a great option!

So class, lesson of the day…print those photos big!

a forgotten favorite.

For a lack of something worth while to post, I thought I would share one of those forgotten photos of mine.  Forgotten photos are personal photos that get downloaded, put in a folder, and never looked at…here’s one.  I like it.img_0383

new proofing! finally!

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I am so excited to announce that we have a new proofing site!  I have been researching different options for months now, and finally found one that fits CDP the best!  Instead of just sending you in blind (although, it’s pretty easy to navigate) I decided to make a little video tutorial to help you along the first time.  I will post all my video tutorials under ‘Links’ at the top of my blog.

Notes about this video:

- Please excuse the ‘ums’.  Saying ‘um’ is one of my biggest pet peeves…and I am guilty of it.  Usually just when I am nervous or frustrated (like this video…since I had to remake it 20,000 times because I talk to long for the time limit).  So I am sorry, there is a point that I realized I was saying it too much and tried to be more aware, but they still stick out to me like a sore thumb.

- Sorry if mentioning that I say ‘um’ too much, takes your focus away from the point of the video…because it did for me.  I could have just made a new one…but after so many times, sometimes you just have to give up and go with what you have.

- If you know me…I talk with my hands.  I think that is obvious my the constant moving cursor (sorry Justin, I couldn’t help it!).

- If you have any questions, just email me!

- If you want to explore the new site, but don’t have a gallery you can access, email me, and I will pass along a password to you!

*I’ll make a not so annoying video later…but this will have to do for now :)

Enjoy!

A couple weeks ago, I headed to Bardstown, Kentucky to photograph 42 of the cutest kids around.  The shoot is for a fundraiser for the school, and while I don’t think I should post photos of the kiddos…I do have pull with the mom of these two adorable kids…so here is a look at what I was up to.

carlycoleside note: i love these kids.

2009 Bride’s Choice Award!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

bca-logoJust received news of this!

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Cassidy Dawn Photography has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Cassidy Dawn Photography is one of the very best Photographers.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

We would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!
