projects.

I know I mentioned forever ago I would share a few pictures of my little projects. Well, they have been done for a while, but I am just now getting around to sharing. The first one was a table my mom bought for my little kitchen in Wilmore. It was actually quite cute in that place, but the bright red and white was not going to cut it in our historic place now. I am happy with the almond color (it is actually the same color we used for a lot of things in the wedding).

The bigger project was this desk. I found it when moving out of Asbury. Someone was selling it for $10, and while I knew it wasn’t very lovely, it was a desk…and I needed one. Well, after a few coats of paint and some corkboard on the back, I think it looks pretty good. All that is left is to find the right hardware.

Well, what do you think?

FEED Project Bag

The FEED bag is designed to raise awareness and funds for hungry children and to help them get into school and out of hunger. Each FEED bag sold will provide a school year of meals for one child in need and give them the hope of an education and a regular meal. Whether you tote your FEED bag to school, work, play, or shop, remember that your bag helped to FEED and educate one child for one school year.

1 FEED bag = 1 child fed for 1 school year

a winter’s night

After Justin and I listened to our Pottery Barn Christmas cd’s for the millionth time, we were in need of another one. Justin found A Winter’s Night on iTunes, and we have been listening to it since. Now there are just a couple that we don’t love, but overall we think it is a great Christmas cd. A warning to some, it is not traditional, not in the least. Think Jack Johnson, Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLachlan, Sixpence None The Richer, etc. (all artists on the cd).

A few of our favorites are:

Maybe This Christmas – Ron Sexsmith – love this one!
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – Barenaked Ladies

Song For A Winter’s Night – Sarah McLachlan

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer – Jack Johnson

All That I Want – The Weepies (on the JCPenny’s Christmas commercial) ;)
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear – Sixpence None The Richer

ok, never mind, I like them all…except the Cat Carol might be a little out there, but I know my sister will like it :)

*warning: the one I found on Amazon.com has different songs, not to say it is bad, it just isn’t the one I am talking about…try iTunes. (it’s the $15.99, not the $9.90…sorry)

If you buy it let me know what you think!

the harrison girls

One of my recent sessions was oh so fun! Everyone knows how much I love dogs, so when a friend of mine called me up and asked for a session of her dogs, I was all in! One of the girls wore me out a bit more than the other, but it was a blast! Here are a couple portraits: Oh, that’s another great Christmas idea, a stretch for some, but still a good one. One of these days I hope to get a Bernese Mountain Dog with a bow ;) So cute! *and yes, I know how large they get!

*this pup isn’t one of the harrison girls.
