update on the camera…

Just found a great deal on the camera I metioned the other day. One of my favorite websites, www.Bargainist.com had the Canon Powershot SD1000 listed. The Bargainist is a blog that I have featured on my google reader and they post tons of coupons and sales that are out there. According to their website, Office Depot is carrying the camera for $149.99 after the mail-in rebate…trust me, it’s a great deal! If you are looking for a camera, this is it, and the rebate expires on the 24th of November, so you may want to act now. Just wanted to pass along the info! *sorry I couldn’t put the link, blogger was having some trouble…just google it :)

In other news, I am in Ohio for Thanksgiving and looking forward to good food and photo shoots, so I probably will be gone for a bit, but promise to return on Monday. Have a great weekend!

it’s here!!!

It’s an exciting day here at Cassidy Dawn Photography. After quite a bit of thought, and a lot of work, CDP finally has a website! I’ve alluded to it for a while and it is now here. I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. Expecting it to be a while before it launched, I wasn’t exactly done with it (you will see a couple ‘coming soon’ sections), but I am thrilled none the less…so keep checking for the updates.
Please be sure to head on over to www.cassidydawn.com to see the brand new website!

Thank you to everyone who really helped me put this together, I am putting my heart into this business, and there is no way I could have done it without the help of so many of you: thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a big day for me; it feels as though it is a ‘right of passage’ and it is finally here. Thank you for letting me photograph your love, special days, and your beautiful children; I can only pray that you continue to have me as your photographer. Nothing would make me happier.

*Oh, and as for the weekend, I have just a couple slots left open for the weekend in Ross County, so if you were still hoping for a shoot, just give me a call and we can set something up! I am really looking forward to all the fun photo shoots already lined up…and that means lots of pictures to blog! Thanks again to all of you who support me, it is amazing that so many people help me to have my dream job and help me create my happy life photographing wonderful people.

what a day…

I’ve been looking forward to today for quite a while. Not only did my parents come down to visit, but we finally shot Whitney & Damon’s engagement pictures! I have been looking forward to this all week: a photo shoot and visitors, what a day! We had a blast with the shoot; they got here early so we shot a bit in the early afternoon then watched a little of the Ohio State vs. Michigan game, and then went out and took some more.

We had pizza for dinner with my parents and finally watched the video from our wedding…so fun! Of course I wanted to show a picture from the day. No Whitney, they aren’t ready to see, but I couldn’t help dragging this one over to photoshop when I was browsing through. I think it kind-of gives you an idea of the fun we had today. Thanks guys, for an awesome shoot! (nice jump Big-D)

amazon…a good place to be

No, not the rainforest, which I am sure it’s lovely, but right now I am talking about amazon.com I’ve always been a fan, but after an experience Justin had with them last night, they are even better than I thought.
Justin needed a particular movie to show some of his classes next week. He ordered the movie, and even paid extra for faster shipping. Well, it came when expected and he was happy. After opening the perfectly packaged item his mood changed a bit. We thought the box it shipped in looked great, only to find out that the inside had been stabbed. The movie really looked like someone stabbed it, it was the strangest thing. Knowing that he needed the movie by Monday and also knowing that there wasn’t anywhere in good ole’ Maysville that he would find it, he had to call customer service. The options were call later or call now, as soon as he clicked the call now button the phone rang…creepy, but cool. The guy on the phone placed the new order and said it should arrive the next day at no charge, and they refunded the cost of the express shipping from the first order. Sure enough, it came today. We were so impressed by this I just thought that Amazon deserved a rave on my blog. So there, good job Amazon.

In line with the Christmas gift idea, Amazon is a great resource. I’ve been a fan of their wish list option for quite a while. You can basically just have a wish list of things you’d like to own…it really helps some people (last year for Justin’s birthday I just clicked till my heart was content…and then so was his). Don’t be shocked though, I think it is way underrated, so the people on your list may not have one…but it doesn’t hurt to check, trust me. On that note, I think everyone on my list this year should head on over and make their own ;)

*Oh and two points for me. Any of you faithful readers know of my problems with blogging regularly. Well, it just so happens that I have managed to blog everyday this week. Don’t expect me to blog this regularly; I guess I’ve had a lot to say this week. Thanks for reading, it means a lot.

pandora radio

To begin, yes, I realize I am one of the last in the blogging realm to mention this wonderful tool on their blog, but I honestly have a good reason, I’ve never tried it :) Pandora Radio is a radio player on the Internet that does wonderful things. I am really not much of a music girl, I try to be, but I am one of those that get in the car and realize that the radio isn’t on an hour later…too much in my head! Anyway, I am always wondering how people find out about good artists other than listening to the same 4 songs on the radio. Well, I’ve found a way. Last night while editing pictures in the kitchen, I decided that I wanted a tiny break from my two cd’s I have in here…really, I am bad when it comes to music. I went to Pandora.com, created an account and made some stations and now I am learning of great new artists and still hearing my favorites.
Here is how it works: you sign up (no fee) and type in an artist or song that you like. Then it magically makes a station for your enjoyment that includes the same feel of the artist or song you entered. For example, some of my favorite stations so far include:
Paolo Nutini, James Taylor, David Crowder Band, Nora Jones, Jack Johnson & Michael Buble and I just started last night, so any of you music people that know of things I would like, leave me a comment. I am bound and determined to know of the new people too!

*Oh, and another good feature, you can set it to Quickmix and it will play either all your stations or just the ones you choose, but then you get a good mixture of all of them (and you can skip what you don’t like). Very cool.

Anyway, I know you’ve all read it before, but now I am saying it too, check out Pandora!
