weddings by cdp!

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

So I realize this blog is difficult when all you want to see is some sample work. Well until I can get a website up and running I thought I would make up a little promo for potential brides so it is easier to get a feel for my style. Here is a combination of several weddings so you can see some images without having to scroll through each post (you can click on the image to see it larger) :) Enjoy!
Stayed tuned for an engagement promo…

engagment shoots

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I just had the best time. Justin and I just got back from our engagement session with the extra, extra wonderful Melanie Mauer (MMP website, MMP blog). We had so much fun and can’t wait to see the pictures. I just wanted to encourage any of you to book an engagement session with whomever you choose for your wedding photographer. Now most of you know how well I know Melanie, for those who don’t, I have had the honor of working for her for the past 2 awesome years. Anyway, even though I know her so well, it was great to work with her before the wedding, it helps you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and in front of your photographer. So that is my 2 cents for the day, take it for what it’s worth :)

Have an awesome day!!!

valentine’s day

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Well, how was your valentine’s day? Mine? Mine was great! I finally got to give Justin his gift, which I was super excited about. To explain a little first, let me give you a little background info. The year before we met, Justin’s house burnt down and the family lost all their possessions, but not their strength. I have never met a stronger family. At one time we were talking about children’s books, and Justin told me his favorite was Whoever Heard of a Fird? Well it turns out most people had never even heard of the book, let alone a “fird.” Needless to say, the book was next to impossible to find; it had gone out of print years ago, and the only copies available were for over $100. Well, I have been searching for over a year, and just the other day I found one, and it definitely wasn’t $100 :) In the likelihood most haven’t heard of a “fird,” I took a picture of the book to show you how cute the little guy is:

So really that was all I was going to share, until my wonderful fiance outdid himself again! He surprised me with these:They are going to be the most beautiful white hyacinths ever. Really just gorgeous!
He also gave me three movies (we have been wanting to gather movies to start our collection). Not to mention his awesome cards (he makes them every year, they are so sweet!)
That’s plenty right?! I thought so, but of course he doesn’t stop. I went into my apartment and there on the table was a HUGE bouquet of hydrangeas. The picture doesn’t do it justice, it is so big. Oh, and I can forget to mention that he made it himself (bought the rocks, the vase and the flowers separate!)

OK, I will stop gushing, but seriously I love my man!!!

V-day tomorrow!

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

In preparation for Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I wanted to post some pictures of my wonderful gift last year. I would do it tomorrow, but I wanted to show you all know what I got Justin and since he is one of my faithful blog readers, I obviously can’t show it until I give it to him :) So here are some pretty pictures of my beautiful orchid I received last year. Enjoy!

erin + mitch

I love Erin & Mitch, these two people are so fabulous! I met Erin 3 1/2 years ago when we were Freshman here at Asbury College. We were suitemates, in the best little unit. She and Mitch had known each other since they were little and are so adorable together. They are some of the sweetest, most genuine people you could ever meet. And style, Erin has it, you wouldn’t believe what she turned Asbury’s married housing apartments into, it looks fabulous!!! Anyway, they asked me to take their engagement pictures, and while these are from quite a while ago, I thought I would post them anyway, they just make me happy! Hope you all are having a happy day! Enjoy the weather before this snow comes in…

what a show!

Justin and I just left the Lexington Opera House where we saw, I Can’t Stop Loving You: The Music of Ray Charles. It was an amazing musical review. We were given the tickets this morning by the lady Justin student teaches with, and absolutely loved the show! Not only was the singing fantastic, but the dancing was so impressive. We would recommend it to anyone if it is coming your way!
This is a picture of the Lexington Opera House and you can see our seats in the balcony (they were really good).

favorite picture ever.

This picture is my all time favorite image, and ironically enough, it is from my family. I think it is so priceless, doesn’t it make you wish it was summer! It just so happens that the adorable little guy is probably (we aren’t positive) my 3rd cousin Harry. Just a guess, but we think it was probably taken in the 1920’s, but again, we could be wrong.
I have a lot of these old pictures of my family that I will be posting now and then, and I promise to know who most of them are!
Anyway, I just love this shot and wanted to share.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

These are some of my most recent favorite images of Justin and me. We took a few pictures last week, and I just love them (especially the one of him by himself). Anyway, I realized it had been a couple days since I posted so I thought I would share. Hope you are all staying warm!
