Last fall I met up with the too cute Crawford family in my favorite spot in Cincinnati, Ault Park! I love, love, love shooting there. Miss Ellie was 6 months old at the time, and we thought it was the perfect time to document them as a family.  We just met up again yesterday in Lexington to photograph them again…Miss Ellie is now 1 year old!! Here are a few of my favorites from our fall shoot…more from the next soon :)

Last fall I met up with the wonderful McFadden family to update their family photos. You may remember them from our very popular snow shoot. We did this shoot in the same location (at their home) and I love how different it feels without a foot of snow…same place, whole new look! As you can see…they happen to be one of the easiest families ever to photograph. Not only are they ridiculously good looking…they can pose ;)

However, we have our first wedding of 2012 this week and we are so excited to be back at it!!

I thought I would pop on and share a favorite senior shoot from last summer…since it’s only March, but feels incredibly close to summer weather.  Also, it’s to remind any seniors that if you are graduating this year, there is still time for a shoot…and if you are graduating in 2013, we have plenty of times this summer & fall to schedule your session! Hope you all have a great weekend!! I know we will, do you know my baby girl is 2 months old on Sunday? My goodness, time is flying!!

Over a year ago…yep, a year, one of my favorite families asked me to come out to Texas to photograph their lives there. My answer: yep!  It’s incredibly hard for me to say no to travel, especially when I get to visit people I love & see places I’ve never been! Well, I had never been to Texas…so I was all in!

The Sikora’s have been great for my travel card…they also had me go to Albuquerque-, New Mexico the year before to photograph their lives there…which was such an amazing trip! They move around a lot due to the Air Force, and I love that they want photos to document their time in the different cities they live in. I am so happy to say that their next city will be “local”…and while I might not get to travel as much with them…I am soo happy to have them closer! See, they are also apart of this family, and it makes my heart happy to see entire families spending time together. Which will be much easier once they are back in good ole’ Ohio!

(random fact: pretty sure this is the exact bridge that Jennifer Lopez was filmed on in Selena…yep, weird fact, but I happened to be watching the movie when I got back and it looked incredibly familiar!)

This trip happened to be soon after my trip to Vegas (I traveled a lot that year ;) and I had taken a workshop about indoor sets for kids…so I was a little inspired for Annie & Millie’s birthday shoot!

Remember this family? Well, we decided to do the annual Cruzan family photoshoot in the summer last year. It was so great to meet up with them and I always love to see how the kids are growing…I love doing annual shoots :) We met up halfway in Cincinnati & we shot at my favorite venue in town…Ault Park! I *love* it there!!

Well, it’s official…I am back from my maternity leave! With 45 minutes under my belt, I am feeling good! I will definitely be learning how to be super productive during my sweet little girl’s naps…as she is currently enjoying one next to me as I type!

I thought I should start off my fresh start on the right foot…yep, back here on the blog! I have almost every session & wedding from last year to blog…seriously. Due to that alarming fact, I had no idea what to choose today, so I closed my eyes and let my mouse pick…so, here we go!

Meet Cydney! She’s a senior this year and I have been waiting to photograph her senior portraits for some time now! Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, the girl has style. We had so much fun on this shoot and I love the different looks we were able to get. Enjoy!

Well, hello there! Remember me? I know, I know…I have been missing on the blog lately, but I think you will all agree that I’ve had a good excuse. My maternity leave is coming to an end and while it’s been one of the most amazing times of my life, I am excited to get back in the swing of things with my business. So look out, I’m coming back soon :)

During my leave, we had a bit of extra exciting news (other than having the world cutest baby…yes, I might be biased), we were published in The Knot Ohio!!  We’ve been featured in the Real Weddings section of the Spring & Summer issue. I received an email last summer from The Knot asking if they could feature Christa & Cory’s wedding…so of course, I jumped at the chance. Be sure to pick up a copy!

16 days ago we got the sweetest, cutest, best little addition to our family…and frankly, I think it’s about time that I introduce her!! Meet Miss Hallie Mae Drummond!

She was born January 25 at 2:41am and was 7 pounds 9 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long. She couldn’t be cuter and I am not the least bit biased at all ;) So far she has proven to be just like her parents when it comes to sleeping and we couldn’t be more proud…only waking around 1 or 2 times a night! While I realize this will probably change, I am soaking it up now. She’s a happy baby and has completely stolen my heart…and the attention of my camera ;) While I am not showing many now, I have a little present that I am working on for her that I will be sharing soon and you will get all kinds of “Hallie-goodness”. Until then…if you are interested, I post several pictures a day to my instagram feed & many to my personal facebook page…so you can find me on those.  (instagram: cassidydawn). **I mean several, so if it gets annoying, don’t say I didn’t warn you ;) However, I can’t apologize because it’s how many of my family members are able to see her…and to be honest, she is just so darn cute!

Thank you to everyone for your patience during my maternity leave. It’s been the most amazing 2 weeks of my life and I am so very grateful for the understanding and patience from my current & prospective clients. I’ll be back in the office regularly on March 5, but until then I am still checking in once a week or so…so keep sending those emails!

I am reaching waay back today!! In honor of a new year & the beautiful layer of snow outside, I thought I would blog a wedding from 2 years ago…weird to say that now ;) I photographed Ely & Lauren’s wedding in December 2010…so not really that long ago, but still ;) I wanted to share a few more weddings before I jump into last year’s weddings….so here we go!

You might remember Ely & Lauren from their engagement photos we shot on a horse farm in Kentucky. It was such a fun shoot and I was so excited to see them again and finally meet their families! If you clicked the link, you can see the back story of our friendship with this very special couple and surely you can understand why it was such an honor to be able to document the start of their lives together. They mean the world to us and we hope that they can look back at these images and re-live one of the biggest days in their lives…it really is an amazing thing we are able to do for people. I am so thankful for everyone of you that allows us to do this.
